When the shelter-in-place order went in to effect for the Bay Area, we checked-in to see how we could support one of our sheltered participants. Due to the pandemic, her work hours have been cut and she expressed a need for groceries and rental assistance. A CityServe volunteer delivered groceries to the family and her case manager has provided resources for Livermore families struggling to pay rent. She is staying optimistic, applying for additional work, and is very grateful to CityServe. After the groceries were delivered she send a message, “My Daughters were so happy and felt so blessed to have food delivered and keep to store at home! As a single Mother living paycheck to paycheck and trying to pay all bills is not so easy. Our family is so great full for all of the help CityServe and the volunteers have provided us with.”
