Fertile GroundWorks Volunteers

To teach and empower people and communities to increase their health, well being, and self-reliance by growing food for themselves and others, organically and sustainability. Produce from our Garden of Grace is given to Open Heart Kitchen and local food pantries to feed the needy. Fertile GroundWorks champions locally-grown food and facilitates the creation and sustainable operation of community, school and employee gardens.
The garden needs volunteers year-round! Whether you are interested in gardening and want to learn more, or are experienced and want to offer your expertise, we appreciate your participation. Gardening activities are supervised by Alameda County Master Gardeners and other experienced gardeners.
We’re also open to volunteers with professional skills to offer, such as administrative assistance, community outreach, construction projects, fundraising, grant writing, event planning and graphic design to name a handful.
