Child welfare issues arise in families of every race, ethnicity, culture, and age group. Although our department works diligently to keep children and youth in their family’s care, these issues sometimes result in the need for children to be placed in foster care when their living conditions are unsafe due to maltreatment or a lack of care or supervision.
